Belfast Power

Belfast Power is developing a new era of low-carbon electricity generation in Northern Ireland. It will generate clean electricity for over 500,000 homes and businesses across the region.

In economic terms it will provide a major boost for the city and, at £280 million, is one of the largest private investments ever undertaken in Northern Ireland.  The project will create 700 jobs during construction and 50 highly skilled full time posts when it becomes operational.

The power station is scheduled to become operational as older generating stations in Northern Ireland are being decommissioned.  This means it will not only result in a significant shift towards cleaner energy production, but it will also play an essential role in ensuring that there is the indigenous electricity generation needed to meet demand levels in the coming years.

Crescent first invested in Belfast Power in 2016. It sold its investment in 2020.
